Here’s the checklist for first-time installers to follow when setting up an Edge system:
(Note: Installers should always bring 1-2 extra cameras to the job in case of any defective units.)
-
Arrive at the Location:
-
Be prepared with all necessary tools and equipment for the installation.
-
-
Connect Your Phone to Wi-Fi:
-
Ask the homeowner for the Wi-Fi credentials to connect your phone to their network. If they’re uncomfortable sharing, use the homeowner’s phone as described in step 3.
-
-
Use the Homeowner’s Phone (if Wi-Fi Credentials Aren’t Shared):
-
Download the necessary app on their phone.
-
Log in using the homeowner’s account that you created.
-
-
Connect to the Camera:
-
Set up the camera near the router.
-
Log in to the homeowner’s account and select "Add Camera."
-
Use the Wi-Fi option and follow the prompts to connect the camera to their network.
-
-
Troubleshoot Wi-Fi Issues:
-
If connection issues arise, try power cycling the camera and reconnecting.
-
After 3-5 failed attempts, call for technical support.
-
-
Test Camera Connection:
-
Once connected, unplug the Ethernet cable but keep the power cord in.
-
Ensure the camera continues to stream properly over Wi-Fi.
-
-
Mount the Camera:
-
Choose a suitable location for mounting.
- Power off the camera and securely mount it, ensuring it covers the pool area.
- Confirm the customer is satisfied with the camera’s position.
- Set up Swim Zone and Smart Fence features, or call support for guidance.
- Adjust the notification settings based on what the customer prefers.
-
-
Final Check:
-
Ensure everything works correctly by testing that events are being recorded and alarms are functioning as expected. Confirm the customer is satisfied with the installation.
